Samantha Scholfield

In her book, Screw Cupid: The Sassy Girl's Guide to Picking up Hot Guys, Samantha Scholfield bravely chose to share her dating experience  - the highs and lows and more importantly the insight garnered over many years of dating rejection and redemption - all to improve the love lives of the female population.

In this brilliantly crafted, humorous but hard hitting book she distills techniques and strategies developed via extensive trial and error, by consulting and collaborating with hundreds of women (and men) and by refining the best of the extensive pickup advice that's already in circulation.

"The book happened organically," Scholfield says. She started writing a How Not To journal that evolved into Screw Cupid: The Sassy Girl's Guide to Picking up Hot Guys. The source of inspiration was two pronged - one, there was not book out there that showed women how to take charge without appearing like agressive man-eaters, and two, she wanted to share what she had learned.

After afew minutes of speaking with Samantha Scholfield, you can clearly see the latter 'sharing' aspect shine through. She is the type of friend who wants to help you out - the girl who received constant late night calls from friends in tears venting about their latest dilemnas, even in grade school. She has a warm, welcoming demeanor. Strangers still seem to be constantly reaching out to her, sharing their painful secrets and persuations. She should have been the local psychologist but instead she followed her long-felt dream to be a writer. In a way she has become a brilliant combination of both - and is ridiculously happy doing what she does.

When asked what is one thing everyone can do to change the world, she answers, " Say one small nice thing to someone you don't know, and be genuine about it. Put the good out there."

That's one mission she lives by. With humor and depth, Samantha Scholfield turned her dating lemons into lemonade for our benefit.

Screw Cupid is the ultimate guide for any woman who is ready to take her dating life into her own hands. This perfectly calibrated guidance on how to pick-up hot guys shows women how to initiate a conversation, anytime, anywhere, and get right to a date, all without the guy knowing who is really pulling the strings.

She has a degree in English from UCLA.
